Uniting Two Award-Winning Platforms

The NAV E 101 DTP is an innovative product that unites the award-winning DTP® and NAV Pro AV over IP platforms. It accepts signals from more than 40 DTP wallplates and floor boxes for use in NAV Systems. DTP wallplates are available with DisplayPort, HDMI, and DVI inputs in stylish EU, MK, and decorator-style wall plates. The NAV E 101 DTP can provide power to these wallplates or floor boxes over the same Extron XTP DTP 24 shielded twisted pair cable used to connect the devices. It can also accept signals from many other DTP transmitters, switchers, and matrix switchers. Add a NAV E 101 DTP to any DTP 330- or 230-enabled system to extend its reach and scale, enabling streaming across the entire LAN. With the NAV E 101 DTP, one DTP source can drive one or many NAV decoders, delivering ultra-low latency, high quality content to any room within a building or across a campus.

NAV and DTP Family

PURE3 Codec

NAV encoders and scaling decoders utilize the latest evolution of the Extron PURE3 codec. This patented, wavelet-based compression technology offers improved network resiliency. The PURE3 codec tolerates bursty network traffic found on converged networks while exceeding the performance characteristics of standards-based compression systems. Others rely on delicate third-party codecs that fail when exposed to unpredictable network traffic. Those codecs require costly isolated networks, but PURE3 is the ONLY codec designed for the Pro AV industry that delivers robust, pristine video on converged or isolated networks. With sub-frame latency, PURE3 processes video signals with 4:4:4 color quantization, while maintaining the original source quality and native resolution. PURE3 Intelligent Selective Streaming is an exclusive Extron technology that leverages periods of low motion in streamed content to enhance streaming performance. The PURE3 codec also features advanced error concealment, providing high immunity to network errors such as bit errors, jitter, out-of-order, and dropped data packets. PURE3 error concealment provides robust picture delivery without the increased latency or bandwidth typically introduced by other error correction schemes.

1 Gbps Ethernet

Designed for 1 Gbps Ethernet networks, the NAV E 101 DTP streams high quality video and audio, delivering an accurate reproduction of original source content. By using standard 1000Base-T 1 Gbps copper Ethernet infrastructure, the NAV E 101 DTP facilitates flexible system design and cost-effective streaming over large distances. Ideal for corporate video distribution, command and control, education, or training applications, the NAV E 101 DTP is a perfect solution for any installation where reliable, high quality AV over IP video distribution is desired.

HDCP 2.3

The NAV E 101 DTP is fully compliant with HDCP 2.3 for transmission of UHD content encrypted with the HDCP standard. It also features Extron Key Minder® to enhance and simplify the integration of HDMI-equipped devices. For HDMI signals with protected content, Key Minder authenticates and maintains continuous HDCP encryption to support quick and reliable transmission across a network infrastructure. If the HDCP-encrypted content is streamed to a non-compliant display, the receiver sends a full-screen green signal, providing immediate visual feedback that the protected content cannot be viewed on the display.

Interoperability with AES67

The NAV platform supports the AES67 standard for transmission of audio over IP networks, facilitating integration with DMP Plus DSPs or other IP-enabled audio components. The AES67 standard provides interoperability between the predominant network audio over IP protocols in use today. Use of this standard enables AV integrators to more easily add audio networking technology into a variety of applications, ensuring reliable performance and flexibility in the distribution of audio signals.

Quick and Reliable Switching

NAV systems are not limited to video extension and distribution. Multiple encoders and decoders can be deployed together to create an IP-based video and audio matrix. NAV Pro AV over IP solutions provide the flexibility of an IP-based system, with the integration-friendly video and audio switching features found in Extron conventional matrix switchers, such as Key Minder, EDID Minder®, and USB and audio breakaway. The NAVigator System Manager enhances matrix switching capabilities, featuring advanced control and enterprise-level system monitoring. The Extron Pro Series control system may be added for additional secure, convenient, and flexible switching.

Priority Routing enables users to create custom tags to ensure that data is properly segregated, and endpoints are more easily located. Users can assign multiple tags to an endpoint using NAVigator software. Used in conjunction with an Extron control system, tags can be leveraged to classify, segregate, or quickly locate endpoints. Priority Routing is useful in systems with multiple security classification levels or in applications that manage many rooms over an enterprise or campus.

Easy Setup and Configuration

The NAV E 101 DTP features a built-in, user-friendly web interface for easy access to network settings, bitrate adjustments, and other parameters from a standard web browser. In addition to the web interface, the NAV E 101 DTP supports configuration from Extron PCS – Product Configuration Software. Deployments will benefit from the required NAVigator System Manager, a powerful, purpose-built appliance for centralized management and control of NAV systems.

Security

All NAV endpoints support 802.1X port-based Network Access Control. When applied, 802.1X authentication requires that all devices are approved before network access is granted. Video and data streams are also encrypted with SRTP – Secure Real-Time Transport Protocol. NAV systems work natively with Extron Pro Series control systems, which feature a Secure Platform Interface that encrypts all commands from control processor to endpoint. Together, NAV and Extron Pro Series control systems create the most secure and reliable Pro AV over IP solution on the market. With the NAVigator System Manager, all communication between the manager and endpoints is encrypted with SSH – Secure Shell protocol. The highly secure nature of the NAV E 101 DTP ensures peace of mind for any modern Pro AV application running over a network.

System Monitoring and Control

The NAVigator System Manager turns the NAV system into a powerful and flexible IP‑based matrix solution. The NAVigator is a purpose‑built appliance with an intuitive, user‑friendly interface for centralized management and control of NAV deployments. In addition to easy setup, configuration, and quick switching, the NAVigator includes extensive features for monitoring, diagnostics, and troubleshooting NAV systems. It also enables simultaneous configuration, bulk firmware upgrades, backup, and restoration of multiple NAV endpoints from a single browser. An optional NAVigator LinkLicense is available to enable third-party control of NAV systems. These third-party control systems can use SIS commands* to make and break NAV connections in addition to various other functions. However, Extron Pro Series control system integration with the NAVigator is required to control Secure Platform Devices on NAV endpoints such as RS‑232 and IR control ports. The NAVigator System Manager acts as a centralized communication bridge for secure, end‑to‑end AES encrypted control of all attached devices.

*The third-party control LinkLicense does not enable control of SPD devices.

Scalability

The NAV platform is the only solution featuring seamless, complete interoperability between 1 Gbps and 10 Gbps encoders and decoders. NAV leverages the PURE3 codec, making it possible to stream video from 1 Gbps encoders to 10 Gbps decoders or reduce bitrates from 10 Gbps encoders so that streams can be readily decoded by 1 Gbps decoders. This flexibility ensures reliable delivery of superior quality video with ultra-low latency across your entire enterprise.
